Epcot Future World - March 2011

Today's offering of past Walt Disney World trips is also from my March 2011 stay. Unlike the Magic Kingdom, I had an evening and two full (beautiful) days at Epcot, so I came home with over 300 pictures from this park. Because of the number to choose from, I will split Epcot over several days, starting with Future World today.

It's Mickey!

This trip was during the Home and Gardens show, so all of the landscaping was especially beautiful.

One of the Festival Demonstration Stages and Classrooms
There were spectacular floral displays everywhere!

Magic Kingdom - March 2011

Today's offering from past trips is the Magic Kingdom from my March 2011 trip.  Unfortunately our planned MK day was a serious washout (I ran in for 3 hours alone and rode every major ride in the MK with no waits, but my wife and her best friend said "no way"), so we did our touring between 7:00 PM and 3:00 AM on a different day.  Our "ride count" was very good, but picture taking was limited.  Here is a selection of some of the better ones I got that night.

Cinderella's Castle.  My one day-time picture taken with my cell phone during a (very) brief break in the rain.

My Disney Christmas Tree

This is really just a test of uploading from my iPhone...

Shades of Green - Part 2

Just another couple of Shades of Green pictures.  This is really an experiment to see how adding a post to the existing blog works.

Shades of Green - Part 1

Welcome to my Walt Disney World Blog! I have been a huge fan of WDW since my first trip there in 1975, and a huge fan of taking pictures at WDW.  I have set up this blog primarily to document my upcoming trip (January 23-28, 2012), but to help pass the time for the next two weeks, I'll share some pictures from past trips. My "Liner" friends who follow my posts know that I am a huge Shades of Green advocate, so what better way to start off than by showing my "home resort". Many people complain about "lack of theming" at Shades of Green. I think had it been called something like "Carolina Bluffs", and "marketed" as a luxury Craftsman-style resort, people would agree that it is spot on target.

Always a welcome sight after an 8 hour drive!

People complain about "lack of theming" at Shades of Green; I get to say "Hi" to Mickey every day, which is enough for me!
